Chão

Over a period of four years, Camila Freitas documented the routine of a group of the Landless Workers Movement in the Brazilian state of Goiás. They occupy an indebted sugarcane factory’s land to press for its redistribution through land reform and dream of social transformation while preparing the soil. Navigating between local political action and the major structures of power that have a direct impact on their activism, CHÃO is an ode to unconditional hope.
